Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

Author Guidelines

The Journal publishes articles with new scientific content that have not been previously published in peer-reviewed journals or conferences. In addition extended versions of conference papers may be considered for publication. The journal does not publish surveys, tutorials or other articles without new scientific contribution. There is no publication fee.

The Author should submit the Article primarily to the Editor of his/her choice. The information of Editors opens through link on Home Page of the Journal. Click the letter icon connected with an editor for email address. Alternatively the Article may be sent to the Editor-in-Chief.

Articles for the Journal of Military Studies should be submitted electronically in MS Word format with figures and tables as a separate JPG or MS Word file. In order to be sent out for review, articles must be complete, including title, abstract, 3-5 key words, stylish text, section headings and a list of references. The total size of the Article may not exceed 8000 words.  If articles are accepted, further instructions of the format (page size, margins, titles, short CV, etc.) are given.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
2. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
3. The instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Copyright Notice

1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.

3. Authors are encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.(See The Effect of Open Access).

4. Any part of the JMS may be referred to assuming the Author, The Article, Publication with Volume and Number plus URL for the references have been provided.
